Good Old Days social club
Good Old Days is a natural extension of the home care service we’ve provided to local people in their homes for over a decade. The centre will be open to those we currently care for as well as the wider mature community in Nottinghamshire.
The centre is set to open from 9.30am to 4pm on selected weekdays, hosting a varied timetable of activities to suit every interest.
Expect hot meals, unlimited refreshments and a dedicated transport service to and from our purpose-built centre in East Bridgford.
We’ve made it our mission for Good Old Days to be an affordable service that far exceeds the experiences on offer at other day centre facilities in the area.
To keep minds engaged and active throughout the golden years, Good Old Days will host everything from social sessions to craft workshops, golden-oldies singalongs, live entertainment, board game groups, as well as classic film and documentary showings.
So that visitors always feel at home and in the company of like-minded individuals, we’ll also be hosting sessions exclusively for those affected by cognitive impairments such as dementia.
That’s why a stand-out feature of Good Old Days is our dedicated memory room. There visitors will be invited to play interactive puzzles, get stuck in with digital painting by numbers and even enjoy stunning views over savannahs and from the summit of Mount Everest using state of the art VR technology.
We’ll also host sessions that develop visitors’ skills when it comes to technology, with small groups about how to get the best from the digital world. Whether it be sending an email or making a video call to family or friends, Good Old Days will provide visitors with practical help as well as great company.
Good Old Days is a project we’ve had in the pipeline for some time. We want elderly members of our local community to always have look something forward. We’re determined to instil more structure and a renewed sense of purpose into the lives of many and cannot wait to open our doors.
